I'm a believer.

Well, a little over 9 weeks ago, I decided that it was time to do make a serious change in where my body weight was heading. I had gained a fair amount of weight since getting married (something as a single woman I vowed wouldn't happen to me) and needed to turn the weight gain around.

After watching several of the commercials, I began thinking about the Nutrisystem program as advertised on tv. It sounded like just what might help me as it would teach me proper portion sizing and types of foods to eat and could be something I'd learn from long-term and not just a quick diet.

So, with my husband's full support (though he has NEVER criticized me or made me feel bad about my weight, just accepts me completely as I am no matter what size), I ordered the system and began the diet. We figured that by not eating out, drinking pop, etc, it wouldn't impact our food budget as much and is a good investment into my future health.

The current result being this: after 9 weeks, I've lost 24.5 pounds. I'd actually lost that much after 8 weeks, but maintained the week of Thanksgiving without going up or down. My goal is another 25.5 pounds and I'd like to make that by the middle of February at the latest. I'm committed to see this happen.

I love the food, love the diet and would recommend it to anyone. They say "results not typical", but I think that is just because society is law-suit driven and I can totally see someone not following the diet, not having good results and trying to sue them. If you follow the diet, you will be full and yet feel better each and every day. It has even helped me lose weight in weeks when I didn't have ANY time to exercise. I love feeling my tummy shrink and starting to get back in clothes that only depressed me 9 weeks ago and seemed impossible to go back to.

So anyway, just thought I would share my success with you. Once I'm done with my goal, I'll post before and after pictures.

Wow, that is awesome!! Congrats on the weight loss, and keep up the great work! I'm so glad the system is working well for you.

I also want to lose about 25 lbs . . . the weight hasn't come off as quickly after having Julia as I hoped it would. I probably won't start working at it really hard till after the holidays, though.

great job, Sandra! I, too, must lose weight, but...I know my problem is merely lack of exercise and too few veggies!! :-) Now that I'm finally feeling almost normal after that c-section, I'm back to Curves with gusto! Hopefully I will soon join you in the ranks of happy & healthy!!

yeah sandra! Wow! I'm so proud of you. You are one of the most determined people I know, so I'm not suprised you are making this a lifesyle change, that is so hard for most others to do. I'm glad to get caught up on your life. I've started selling things on ebay. You should write a post giving us all great tips :):) Will you be here in May?? I hope so. Love ya.

Great job! My dad was on the same program and lost 40 lbs. He enjoyed the meals too. You're doing great!

Thanks for your kind comments, everyone. I'm working hard, but it is worth it to put on jeans you haven't worn in several months. A few months before we started, I figured I had averages more than a pound a month of weight gain over the time we were married. So, now I just get excited thinking about to what stage I'm back to. 5 more pounds and I'll be back to the fall right after our marriage. :)

WOW Sandra that is AWESOME!! MORE info please. I would love to lose about 10 more. My question is this--how expensive is the program. I look forwar to seeing the before and after pictures. Hey by the way, do you still keep in touch with Vanesa Pritchard?

Nikki,
You can get more information on www.nutrisystem.com. It did add more into our food budget, but not too much when we took out eating out and stuff like that. We decided to count the extra as an investment into my future health. Yes, I do still talk to Vanesa every 1-2 weeks (though most of the time weekly). She is still in Saipan and enjoys her ministry there.

Thanks for the info Sandra. I see and hear of so many different systems for weight loss and I never know which one to pursue. It is great to hear about what is working for different people. It helps me process all the info out there! Have a great Christmas!
