CVS Ideas for You

Okay, I thought I would give some of you a breakdown of a few of the CVS opportunities this week that I have already capitalized on. I'll be more specific for those of you who want to also give a try. Here goes:

Transaction 1:

2 Dawn Dish Detergent $2.00 Total
1 9 Large Rolls Charmin Ultra Soft $4.99 Total
2 Listerine Smart Rinse 250m, $6.98 Total
1 Brut Deoderant 2.5oz, $2.69 Total
Coupons:
-$0.25 Dawn Detergent Coupon
-$0.25 Charmin Coupon
- 2 $1.00 off Listerine Coupons
-1 $3.00 off a purchase over $15 CVS coupon (which thanks to Caroline I do have a PDF of it, so I can email it to you if you would like.
Used $10.98 in ECB's earned previously
Paid $0.37 Out of Pocket
Received:
$1.00 Dawn ECB
$6.98 Listerine ECB
$3.00 Brut ECB

Overall: Earned back exactly as many ECB's as spent (term is called rolled over - especially since one was going to expire today) paid $0.37 for all this stuff. Oh yeah, and I have $4.99 now towards the buy $20 of charmin and get $10 back. I will finish that deal later in the week and my ECB's will print out when the last item is paid taking me over $20.00 in charmin.

Okay, so this is seriously my favorite transaction of the week so far. Here is the breakdown:
1 Listerine Smart Rinse 250m, $3.49
2 CVS Plastic Bandaids, 40, $3.98 Total
1 Lifesaver Bin, $0.50 (filler)
2 Brut Deoderant, 2.5oz, $5.38
2 CVS Cotton Swabs 500, $6.38 Total
Coupons:
-$1.00 Listerine - can print online
-$3.00 off $15.00 CVS purchase
-$3.00 off $10.00 purchase CVS Brand (bandaids and Cotton swabs - these print out on the little coupon printer in the store. Just scan your card).
Used $12.36 in previously earned ECB's
Paid $0.37 Out of Pocket
Received:
$4.00 CVS Cotton Swabs ECB
$6.00 Brut ECB
$3.49 Listerine ECB
$3.98 CVS Bandaid ECB
Overall: Earned back $17.47 in ECB's to spend at next purchase (thereby gaining $5.11 in ECB's more than I had before this purchase). Because I paid $0.37 out of pocket, when you subtract that from the $5.11, you come up with an overall profit of $4.74 just for taking this stuff off their hands. The most exciting part is that this stuff is for my sister, Danelle, so I have more cool stuff to take to them free when we go to Michigan on vacation (only 26 days from now, but who is counting).
So, that is how I did. Maybe you can try one of these deals. The last one should be easy for anyone. You need a CVS card, the pdf to print off the $3.00 off $15.00 purchase coupon (let me know if you need it), the $3.00 off $10.00 coupon you get in store when you scan your card at the little coupon printer and a listerine coupon which you can find here: http://www.listerinekids.com/smart-rinse-coupon.jsp
Have fun!

Wow! I am still in amazement at all of the various deals you end up with. We buy store brand quite a bit, but if switching to a name brand means getting things free, well then...I am getting my ducks in a row to try and start CVS shopping this week. Now if I can just find my CVS card and get our printer working again!

Hello,
I love your CVS post...and the pics of your dogs, They are adorable. If it wouldn't be too much trouble, could you email me the CVC pdf coupon?
Thanks so much!

I love it! I hadn't noticed the Charmin offer, I will have to go back again! My kids love the smart rinse, tho, and the Johnson's buddies. Do you think the missionaries will wonder why there's so much deodorant and toothbrushes and diabetic stuff in the Missions CLOSET???

Thanks for the link to the Listerine coupon. I went to CVS yesterday. They were out of bandages and the Listerine. I'll have to try again later. I did try two different stores and one was terrible with labeling what was on sale and the other was a little better. I bought a couple of things I thought were the deals and turned out they were not. I returned them later. We'll keep trying. I do have some ECB's that I will use later this week. Thanks for your help.

Carol,

Yes, it will be funny to see 25 Brut Deoderants in the missionary "Gift Shop". But hey, as I've said before, if taking the Brut deoderant off their hands is going to make me money so that I can buy milk and other necessities free, you can bet that I'm going to take it and donate it. Though actually I think I'm giving my dad the Brut deoderant. He actually wears Brut.

You probably don't remember me, but I went to NBBC with you. You graduated shortly after I started. My maiden name is Rademacher.
I peek at your blog every once in a while and am very impressed with all of these deals. I don't totally understand how it all works. If I go into CVS (there is one two blocks from where I live) and get a membership card, will they give me any information on how this all works? Would you mind emailing me the coupon? My email address is kellyannrad@yahoo.com
Thanks!

Another idea for the extra "stuff" is to save it up and make a themed basket for the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon at Providence. I know that the secretary is always looking for great deals, especially free, to give to the teachers at the end of the year. This year's luncheon is over, but next May there should be another one (Guess expiration dates would be important in this case!). Anyway...food for thought.

Good thinking! I had thought about doing this, but it seems I don't make it to CVS until later in the week. By then, everyone has already been...LOL! Oh well, maybe one of these weeks I'll be able to do it.

Thanks for sharing!
